Talking History: Andrew Lawler

Talking History: Andrew Lawler

About

Join us Saturday, July 5, 2 p.m. at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown as author Andrew Lawler discusses his new book, "A Perfect Frenzy: A Royal Governor, His Black Allies, and the Crisis That Spurred the American Revolution".

"A Perfect Frenzy" recounts the largely untold story of rebellion in Virginia and uncovers the neglected truth behind the American Revolution. It focuses on the role of Lord Dunmore, the colony’s royal governor, who is commonly portrayed as a villain who opposed the patriots and destroyed the port of Norfolk. The book sheds light on the origins of America’s present-day conflicts around race, gun control, immigration and the divide between urban and rural communities.
