Living Historian Charles Wissinger presents the Marquis de Lafayette, the marvelously fascinating gentleman from France, in this informative and entertaining program. Born into nobility and baptized Marie Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, the young Marquis made his way to America on his own dime, served under General Washington from Valley Forge to Yorktown, and returned in 1824 for a 13-month journey through 24 states, a true American hero.

Virginia Legends Live is a historical performance program dedicated to preserving the history of Virginia Beach by educating about the influential leaders or “legends” of American history. Programs are possible through fundraising missions with the Virginia Legends Walk Foundation.
