Run to Remember VB is a charitable race, conceived by four widows of Navy SEALs who were killed in action along with 26 other service members on August 6, 2011. In the midst of our grief, we felt extreme gratitude for the communities who rallied to support us- Naval Special Warfare, Virginia Beach, and many others around the nation. Our gratitude led us to create this event to bring people together to celebrate the true meaning of Memorial Day while giving back to organizations whose mission is to support families of fallen service members.

Run to Remember VB is held on Memorial Day at the Military Aviation Museum in Pungo, VA. The morning begins with the National Anthem and the presentation of colors. At 8:06, in honor of the men we lost on August 6, 2011, the 5K begins followed by the 1-Mile Kids’ Fun Run. Long after the race ends, the event continues with music, local food, and beverages.

With dedication and hard work, since its inception, Run to Remember VB is proud to have donated more than $240,000 to various philanthropic organizations including Snowball Express, SEAL-NSW Family Foundation, Navy SEAL Foundation, All In All the Time, SEAL Legacy Foundation, Comfort Zone Camp, Gold Star Teen Adventures, the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, Special Ops Survivors, Salvage USA, Travis Manion Foundation, Wreaths Across America, Gold Star Peak, Inc and The Station Foundation.
Race Day Schedule
Memorial Day, Monday, May 26th at Virginia Beach, VA 23456
6:30 AM – Parking Lot Opens
* Parking will be at the lot across the street from the Museum
6:45 – 7:30 AM – On-site registration and packet pick-up
8:00 AM – Run to Remember Vendor Tables and Tents open to participants
8:06 AM – 5K & Run/Walk Start
9:30 AM – Kids’ 1 Mile Fun Run Start
12:00 PM – All festivities at Military Aviation Museum completed

Race Policies
Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Packet Pick Up
Race bibs will not be mailed to participants. Participants should pick up their race packet (bib and shirt) at Sage Kitchen (1925 Fisher Ave, Virginia Beach, VA 23456) on Friday, May 24th 4-8pm at Sage Kitchen. A photo ID is required for packet pick up.

Race Day Registration
Same day registration will be available on race day but we strongly encourage participants to register prior to race day! The registration price increases on race day and there is no guarantee your t-shirt size will be available with same-day registration. For same-day registration, please show up between 6:45 – 7:30 AM. You may bypass the registration line on race day by registering online on your smartphone and then proceeding to the registration table to retrieve your bib number.

Parking
Parking is free and available on the grounds of the museum. Our volunteers will direct you on race day.

Donations
Donations to Run to Remember VB benefit organizations whose mission is to support families of fallen service members. Proceeds and donations from our 2024 Run to Remember VB race will benefit The Homebase Program and the Navy Seal Danny Dietz Foundation.
