Visit the Henry Family Cemetery as Cody Youngblood, Red Hill’s Director of Historic Preservation & Collections, and Ashleigh Meyer, Historian & Preservationist at Old City Cemetery, clean and repair the headstones and tombs.

About the Cemetery:

This cemetery has, since 1799, held the body of Patrick Henry. In 1831, his wife Dorothea Dandridge was buried by his side. Many other descendants are buried here as well, including two of Henry’s sons, several grandchildren, and even a great-grandchild. Seven headstones and box tombs stand today.

Visitors are welcome to visit the cemetery on September 30 to watch the conservation work in action, ask our staff questions, and even lend a hand. No registration is necessary.
