February 27, 1766 Richard Henry Lee, Francis Lightfoot Lee, Thomas Ludwell Lee, and William Lee sign the Leedstown Resolves at Old Bray’s Church (with more than 100 other men, including several brothers of Geroge Washington).

June 7, 1776 Richard Henry Lee formally proposes independence from Great Britain in Congress Hall, Philadelphia.
