Executive Assistant – Job Description

The Virginia American Revolution 250 Commission (VA250), a legislative branch agency, is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Executive Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Executive Director.  The ideal candidate will handle sensitive information with discretion, manage day-to-day operations, and ensure seamless communication within the agency.  This is a key role requiring a high level of confidentiality, professionalism, attention to detail, and multitasking ability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage confidential information and sensitive documents with the utmost discretion.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements.
  • Handle inquiries and manage Executive Director’s schedule.
  • Perform research, prepare documents and correspondence with the highest attention to detail.
  • Support all aspects of the planning of high-priority projects and events.
  • Coordinate all aspects of meetings of the Commission and its councils, including handling logistics, ensuring proper public notice, preparing meeting materials and minutes, etc.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Communication, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment balancing multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with event management, graphic design, or database administration is recommended.
