Eastville Historic District

About

Home of the oldest continuous courthouse records in the United States of America. Thanks to stubborn, independent stewards of these valuable documents, we can learn much about the earliest history of our country. The Court Green Historic Buildings are open to visitors April through October during regular business hours Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM. This includes the Old Courthouse, Clerk's Office, Debtors Prison and the exhibits in the 1899 Courthouse/ County Administration Building. If you should be visiting between November through March and wish to see inside the buildings, please inquire with the County Administration Office on the 2nd floor to get the keys. When you visit the County Building, please take a few moments to walk the corridors to view the historic photographs of homes, schools, shops, agriculture, the railroad, steamship ferries and Northampton notables. A history walking tour is available.
