Bear Creek Lake State Park
About
Bear Creek Lake was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps as part of a program created by the Virginia Department of Agriculture under the direction of the U. S. Forest Service and given to the Division of State Parks in 1940. Today it encompasses 326 acres centered on the 40-acre Bear Creek Lake and not only provides the original day-use recreation area, but offers camping, cabins for rent, a lodge and a conference center. It is listed in the registers under the State Parks Built by New Deal Programs.Details
