With Norfolk being tucked into the middle of the Atlantic coast, you will find that maritime is a major part of our history while still playing a vital role today. Located along the waterfront in downtown, Norfolk, VA, offering a unique form of experiential learning for all ages. Through interactive exhibits and STEM to STERN programming, Nauticus uses the museum, Battleship Wisconsin, sailing center, and Schooner Virginia to tell the story of the maritime environment, industry, and the military.

From the moment you walk into the museum, you will be immersed in maritime. Make your way to the second floor and learn more about the military before walking onto the Battleship Wisconsin, the last and largest ship commissioned by the US Navy. Walk along the deck or head below for a taste of what life looked like for those in service.

Once off the battleship, make your way to the newly renovated third floor for two hands-on exhibits. One is designed to teach kids about life underwater and the other takes a look at Norfolk's unique history and how those before us have impacted us and how we impact our city today.
