Historic Green Spring

Historic Green Spring

About

Historic Green Spring, built in 1784 by John Moss, has a rich history spanning farming, Civil War intrigue and architectural significance. Once home to the Moss family, then Civil War veteran Fountain Beattie and later power couple Michael and Belinda Straight; the property evolved from a working farm to a celebrated estate with designs by Walter Macomber and Beatrix Farrand. Now part of Green Spring Gardens, the site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and remains a treasured Fairfax County landmark.
