Colonial Seaport Foundation

About

The Colonial Seaport Foundation is an educational charitable organization focused on preserving facets of America's Colonial (17th-18th Century) Maritime Heritage by providing accurate living history presentations and education to the public.

These living history experiences include – Living History Encampments Seamanship & Navigation, Sailor Life, Colonial Cooking Demonstrations, Rope Making, Colonial Weapons & Tactics and Hands-On Artifact events.

The Foundation constructed and sails the Luna – a reproduction of an 18th Century Sloop. Sloops were the 18-Wheelers of Colonial America and anyone living on the coast would have readily recognized the Luna as a coastal workhorse hauling goods from one port to the next and spreading news of the day.
