America. Made in Virginia
As America prepares to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, as the birthplace of the nation Virginia holds a special responsibility to share our nation’s founding story. We have developed an ambitious marketing campaign aimed at raising awareness about Virginia’s crucial role in shaping America’s history.
This campaign is the result of extensive collaboration among numerous dedicated individuals and organizations, including Chair Terry Austin, Senator Mamie Locke, Chief Steve Adkins, Virginia Tourism, the professional staff at VA250, and many others. Together, we’ve crafted a unified message to engage audiences statewide, highlighting Virginia’s foundational contributions from the earliest days of independence through the victory at Yorktown.
We initiated this outreach to address a clear need: many people remain unaware of the significance of 2026 and the meaning behind “Virginia 250” or “the Semiquincentennial.” Our goal is to clarify and amplify this important message.
To support your participation, we’ve created a comprehensive digital toolkit filled with videos, graphics, social media content, and tailored resources. We ask that you share and amplify “America. Made in Virginia.” across your networks using all available channels—email lists, newsletters, social media platforms, websites, and events—to ensure widespread reach and engagement.
With your help, we can educate Americans about our history, engage with every community to tell a complete story, and inspire people to recommit to the values inherent in citizenship—ultimately helping us form the “more perfect union.”
