Oatlands Tree Planting - Celebrating America 250! with Trees from Historic Virginia Presidential Properties

About

In celebration of America 250, the Ketoctin Chapter NSDAR is sponsoring the planting of four trees at Oatlands Historic Homes and Gardens in Leesburg, VA. These donated tree seedlings were propagated at Mount Vernon, Monticello, Montpelier, and Oak Hill, representing properties of four of the five first American Presidents - known as the "Virginia Dynasty". We will be recognizing the legacy of Virginia founding fathers in a tangible way that also supports our chapter's Conservation objectives. This small grove of tree seedlings will eventually serve as a reminder of Virginia's role in securing American Independence.

Marc Leepson, journalist, historian and author of "Saving Monticello," will be the keynote speaker.
