Vienna@1775

About

Vienna@1775 is a panel discussion of what the area that we now know as Vienna was like in 1775, on the eve of the Revolutionary War. If you had walked down the path paralleling what is now Maple Avenue in 1775, what would you have seen? Even more interesting, what would you have not seen? A panel of distinguished historians and archivists will take us back in time. And after the panel, we will be serving samples of period food, including Indian Pudding, Ham and Biscuits, Queen's Cake, Ginger Cookies and Onion Pie!
Our panelists are: George Oberle III, PhD, History Librarian & Director, Center for Mason Legacies, George Mason University
Georgia Brown, Manager and Archivist for the Fairfax Circuit Court Historic Records Center and Curator of the Fairfax Court Slavery Index
Anne Stuntz, President of Historic Vienna, Inc., Vice President of the historic Flint Hill Cemetery Association, and President of the Friends of the Virginia Room
Town of Vienna Councilmember Chuck Anderson will serve as moderator
