Book Talk: The Virginia Continental Line in the Revolution's Southern Campaigns

Book Talk: The Virginia Continental Line in the Revolution

About

John C. Settle will present his new book, based on original research, into the Virginia soldiers serving in the Continental Line in the last years of the Revolutionary War. His work reveals struggles with supply lines, shortage of food and uniforms, as well the war-fatigue of the Southern states after so many years. The Virginians served in the important final battles of the war: Cowpens, Guildford Court House, and Yorktown. Settle is a native of Fluvanna County. He graduated with a degree in history from Bridgewater College, and found his first job as a military interpreter at Colonial Williamsburg. He now teaches U.S. History in the Powhatan County Public Schools.
