Bray School Stories: "Gone to the Enemy": Lord Dunmore and the Legacy of Black Loyalists

About

Bray School Lab presents a monthly Zoom series by Genealogist Elizabeth Drembus, detailing her on-going search for the descendants of the Williamsburg Bray School.

This month, Elizabeth turns attention to the people who chose to seek their freedom following Lord Dunmore's proclamation.

The discussion will include one person's journey to connect with the Bray School story, the journey of African Americans from the Chesapeake region to Nova Scotia, and the legacy of education as a tool of economic empowerment among Black women in early North America and West Africa.

Join us for an exciting, descendant-led conversation. All are welcome!

The event is free and open to all, but registration is advance is required: https://go.wm.edu/B7FvpG
