Join us in a true small-town patriotic celebration of our nation's Independence! Local citizens come together each year decked out in red, white and blue to cheer passing floats, antique and classic cars, kids on bikes and trikes, and even a tractor or two. The parade's one-mile route begins at the Craig County Fairgrounds, travels down Route 311 to Main Street and on to the Courthouse. Celebrants then assemble at the Craig County Farmers Market for the Craig Valley Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution parade after-party. There you'll find local nonprofit groups offering a variety of food and beverage, as well as live music entertainment. Watermelon eating contests, Best Beard contests, and Most Patriotic Bonnet/Hats contests provide fun entertainment for the entire family. Winning entries for the parade participants, including the coveted Patriot Cup are also recognized. Come experience for yourself the best old-fashioned small-town Independence Day celebration around!
