Forgotten Patriots: Virginia's Black Revolutionary Soldiers

Forgotten Patriots: Virginia

In 1781, citizens of Henrico and the counties surrounding Richmond witnessed the American Revolution come right through their communities. Black Virginia men camped, marched, and fought side by side with their white neighbors in pursuit of liberty and independence from English rule.
