In January, 1781, British General Benedict Arnold led a raid to capture Richmond. This weekend several Richmond-area sites will commemorate the Revolution in the capital city.

Thursday January 4: 7 pm kickoff presentation at the Libby Mill Library (2100 Libbie Lake East Street, Henrico, VA 23230).
Guest speaker Randolph G. Flood, Host of The Real American Revolution Multimedia Center & Consortium for Civic Education will discuss the coming of the Revolution and events of 1774.

Friday January 5: Living history demonstrations with Continental soldiers at the Clarke-Palmore House (904 McCoul St, Henrico, VA 23231), 12- 5 pm.

Saturday January 6: Living history activities 10 am- 4 pm at Chimborazo Park, 3215 East Broad Street, Richmond VA 23223
11 am: Musket Demonstration
Noon: Kid's Militia drill (kids of all ages welcome!)
1 pm: Musket Demonstration
2 pm: Musket Demonstration
3 pm: Musket Demonstration.
Ongoing activities include displays and demonstrations of historic foods, spinning, sewing, medicine, music, and more.

Sunday January 7:
10 am Revolutionary Richmond Walking tour (2 miles). Meet at Farm Fresh on Main Street: 2320 East Main Street
1-4 pm: Presentations by historians at Historic St. John's Church, 2319 E Broad St, Richmond, VA 23223:
1 pm: The Old Stone House and Lafayette in Richmond- Chris Semtner, Poe Museum Curator
2 pm: Edward Carrington and the preservation of his grave marker- Stephen Wilson, Executive Director, St. John's Church Foundation
3 pm: Lesser-known Virginia Revolutionary War Leaders- Mark Maloy, author and National Park Ranger
4 pm: Conclusion
