Come celebrate as UVA’s very own copy of the Declaration of Independence will be on display in the Dome Room of the Rotunda on Presidents Day – Monday, February 16 from 1-5pm.

We'll be joined by musical performances, fun merchandise, and flash seminars to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. This kickoff event invites the UVA community to experience and discuss the ideals of democracy, how it has evolved, and our collective role in shaping its future.

Explore the ripple effect of the Declaration of Independence throughout American history with a collaborative reading from UVA leaders, students, and community members. Musical guests will perform patriotic tunes, and expert-led flash seminars will build on what we know about the Declaration.
