Witness Lord Dunmore, the last Royal Governor of Virginia, finalize his famous proclamation at the inception of the Revolutionary War, issuing martial law and offering freedom to enslaved people owned by those rebelling against the king. In this museum theater piece, we investigate what this proclamation may have meant to the people of Virginia, both enslaved and free.
