Presented by Jarod Kearney of the James Monroe Museum. Many family artifacts are passed down from generation to generation. Understanding the proper way to store, care for, preserve, and protect these items are critical to their prolonged continuance in the family. Learn the basics of caring for a variety of items along with the hows, whys, and whens of preservation and conservation.

Jarod Kearney is the Assistant Director and Curator of the James Monroe Museum in Fredericksburg and has been since 2011. Previously, he was the curator of the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library and Museum in Staunton, Virginia, and has an extensive history of curatorship and museum directorship. He holds a M.A. in Museum studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
