Founded in 1934, John Lyon VFW Post 3150 has served our Nation's veterans, promoted Americanism, and committed to our community for 90 years. At John Lyon, we ourselves on being one of the most innovative and active Veteran Service Organizations in Virginia. We are named for 1st Lt. John Lyon who volunteered for service as an ambulance drive in WWI and then volunteered again when the US entered the war in 1917 and he became part of the 29th Infantry Division serving in France. He was killed in combat just a month before the Nov 1918 Armistice. We're commemorating him and all other service men and women throughout America's history as we celebrate our own 90th Anniversary with a dinner and ceremony.
