Join Patrick Henry’s Red Hill and members of the descendant community to honor the life and legacy of Red Hill’s enslaved population and their descendants. Doors open at 10:00 am with an opportunity to speak with partner museums and organizations tabling on the grounds. Presentations begin at 11:00 am and include an opening ceremony at the Quarter Place Cemetery where 147 African Americans are buried.

Lunch will be provided at 12:30 pm for an additional cost, for which tickets can be purchased in addition to the free event registration. Hear research updates from our Director of Historic Preservation & Collections, genealogy discoveries from our Historian & Genealogist of African American History, and sing and dance with a jazz band and traditional African American music.

This event is FREE and open to the public. Registration is required.
