On February 24, 2015, the Virginia General Assembly passed House Joint Resolution No. 797 "Designating March 14, in 2015 and in each succeeding year, as a Day of Honor for the Marquis de Lafayette in Virginia." As part of the Virginia Museum of History & Culture's 250th Initiative, join the VMHC and the American Friends of Lafayette for a special evening honoring the legacy of the French general who played a vital role in securing American independence and championing human rights around the world.
