Come learn to create a colonial craft from a heritage artisan! Students will create a small but beautiful and functional coiled basket from pine needles collected in Virginia and other eastern U.S. states. Class instruction will include collecting, preparing, and storing pine needles; starting and finishing a coiled basket using various techniques; common stitch types; and adding beads and other embellishments. No experience is necessary, and all materials are provided in the class cost. The cost of the class is $230 and includes all materials and lunch.
