Warren County's Annual Major General Dr. Joseph Warren Commemoration and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the VA 250th Revolution Bench Dedication

The County of Warren along with the Colonel James Wood II Chapter of the Virginia Society of the Sons of the American Revolution will be holding the annual commemoration event to honor the memory of the County's namesake, Dr. Joseph Warren. This year's ceremony will include a dedication of a granite bench with the names of Revolutionary War soldiers who are buried in Warren County and the Town of Front Royal. This bench and adjacent monuments are located on the grounds of the Warren County Courthouse and are handicapped accessible. The event will include the posting of colors and a wreath laying presentation by the local Winchester chapter of the Sons of American Revolution (SAR). SAR members will be attending in Revolutionary War period uniforms and will be presenting the colors, arms and giving a series of cheers for the deceased soldiers and the martyr & Patriot of the Revolution, Dr. Joseph Warren. The County flag will be flown at half-staff as part of the event commemorating Dr. Warren's birth June 11th, 1741 and his death at the Battle of Bunker Hills June 17th, 1775. Parking is free and in locations on E. Main St. and parking lots located on sides streets, E. Jackson St, Peyton St, Crescent St. and Chester St. and around the Town Gazebo.
