Martinsville & Henry County

About

Henry County was founded in the year 1777, right at the onset of the American Revolution and was named for founding father and patriot Patrick Henry. It was the first county in the state not to be named after something pertaining to England. Henry County has a rich and vibrant history from being one of the textile and furniture capitals of the world to being the site of one of the last skirmishes of the American Civil War. Today, we embrace our past but we are striving towards a better future.
