Join us for this annual tour of historic Sinking Spring cemetery during the Virginia Highlands Festival! Originally the grounds of Sinking Spring Presbyterian Church, the first church established west of the Eastern Continental Divide, the first burial in the churchyard was in July of 1776. This year you'll hear the life stories of military veterans buried here, from Revolutionary War veterans to the modern era, presented by local historical interpreters. This is a fundraiser for the Historical Society of Washington County VA, Inc., a non-profit celebrating their 90th year this year as well. Each group tour takes about 45 minutes. Cost is $5 per person, cash only.
