Battle of Great Bridge 250th Anniversary Reenactment

About

Don’t just learn about Revolutionary history--experience it! Join us as we commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Great Bridge, which took place December 9, 1775. Often called "Virginia’s Bunker Hill," this short but intense battle was one of the first Patriot victories in the Revolutionary War and helped drive the British Government from the colony of Virginia. Step back in time and experience the Battle and life as it was in the Revolutionary War era during this weekend of commemorative events. Witness exciting narrated reenactments of the Battle of Great Bridge on both days, visit Patriot and British soldier’s encampments, and enjoy character portrayals, historical displays and lectures, skilled artisans demonstrating early American trades, children's crafts and activities, an artisans marketplace for shopping, food trucks, music, and visit the VA250 Mobile Museum Experience "Out Of Many, One." Saturday 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., Sunday 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Free.
