In January, 1781, General Benedict Arnold led British troops to capture Richmond after a brief skirmish at Chimborazo Hill.
The National Park Service, Henrico County Parks, Henrico County Library, and St. John’s Church are commemorating this event with special activities on January 5, 7, and 8. The event starts with a presentation on Thursday evening, January 5 at the Libby Mill Library. On Saturday the 7th from 9 to 4 reenactors will be set up at the battle site at Chimborazo, and that afternoon from 1-4 pm St John's Church will host authors and historians talking about the Revolution in Virginia. Sunday January 8 will be two walking tours about the Revolution in Richmond at 10 am and 1 pm.
