Scott County has a long historical legacy. Though the county was established in 1814, the members and locations within the county originate with the push into the wilderness in the 18th century. Many members of this county fought in the Battle of Kings Mountain, a turning point in the Revolutionary War. We are proud to be home to multiple Native American historical sites, both national and state Historical registered locations as well as many other points of interest in the founding of our Nation and the evolution of our County into modern times. Daniel Boone is known to have visited several locations within the county which as Boone definitively stands for opening trails, Scott County still stands as a gateway county as guests leave TN entering VA along the well traveled Hwy 23, Moccasin/Wadlow Gap corridor.
While there are currently no events listed specifically for Scott County, search the VA250 Statewide Calendar of Events for a comprehensive listing of programs across the state.
