The Valentine

The Valentine

About

For 125 years, the Valentine has been collecting, preserving and interpreting Richmond Stories and is the only museum focused on the history and culture of the region. Located in the heart of historic downtown, the Valentine offers many unique experiences to plan your visit around that challenge and inspire while sparking joy and wonder.

The Valentine Main Campus at 10th and East Clay Street includes permanent and rotating exhibitions in the main galleries, the historic Wickham House built between 1812 and 1815, the Valentine Studio and a beautiful garden. The Valentine First Freedom Center is located in Shockoe Bottom on the same corner where Virginia's General Assembly passed the Statue of Religious Freedom in 1786 and explores the past, present and future of religious freedom in America.
