Jamestown Settlement

Jamestown Settlement

About

Jamestown Settlement, a museum of 17th-century Virginia history and culture, explores America's first permanent English colony through immersive galleries and films and living-history interpretation.

Gallery exhibits and an introductory film trace Jamestown's beginnings in England and the first century of the Virginia colony and describe the Powhatan Indian, English and West Central African cultures that converged in early Virginia. Outdoors, discover daily life in 17th-century Virginia in re-creations of a Paspahegh town, climb aboard one of three ships - Susan Constant, Godspeed and Discovery, or experience life in the Jamestown colony in a re-created fort.

Open year-round 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except Christmas and New Year's days. Visit jyfmuseums.org for information on tickets and special events and programs.

Administered by the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, an agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and supported by Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, Inc. for private fund development.
