Oak Grove Cemetery began as the burial ground for the old Lexington Presbyterian Church in 1789. General Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson, 144 Confederate veterans, two Virginia governors, John Letcher, James McDowell, and Margaret Junkin Preston - the Civil War Poet Laureate of the South - are buried here.

Open daily, dawn to dusk.

Maps of the cemetery may be obtained at the Lexington Visitor Center at 106 E. Washington Street.
