The woods, fields, and roads that make up Chancellorsville Battlefield span across both sides of modern-day Route 3. The park's visitor services, driving route, and trails provide a variety of options for exploring and connecting with the history of the battle, which was waged in spring 1863. The Civil War battlefields of Chancellorsville, Spotsylvania and Wilderness are maintained by the National Park Service.
