On July 4, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was signed, setting the stage for the United States of America and 250 years later, Virginia is leading the way with spectacular Independence Day events commemorating this nation-defining moment. From the ideas that inspired it to the battlefields that decided it, Virginia is the ideal place to celebrate the nation’s semiquincentennial.
