Declaration Day
About
Join us at Gunston Hall as we commemorate the anniversary of the 1776 Virginia Declaration of Rights. In writing this document, George Mason took some of the first steps in American history to make this country and the world a better place. They were not perfect steps. Mason owned slaves his entire life and the rights in the Declaration applied to a specific segment of society. Countless people have since worked to make the ideals of the Declaration a reality for everyone. This program will happen rain or shine. In the event of rain, some activities may move indoors.
Tickets
This program is complimentary for all attendees. Some experiences will require a complimentary, timed ticket which may be picked up the day of the event.
