Join foodways historians Handmade History, LLC for an interactive demonstration of 18th c. open fire cooking! Experience the sights and smells of fresh-baked bread, roasted meats, pies, and more, try your hand at churning butter or help with kitchen chores, and explore the foods, recipes, and techniques used to prepare a seasonal meal during the Colonial era of the Historic Upper Wolfsnare House. Visit a recreation of a colonial tavern, enjoy free home tours, meet the Virginia Beach Master Gardeners and members of the Princess Anne County/Virginia Beach Historical Society, vendors, food truck, plus special dedication of the Anne Henry Memorial Garden at 11:00 a.m. History never smelled so good! Please note: food prepared is for demonstration purposes only and not for consumption. Copies of recipes will be available.
