The Virginia National Guard 29th Infantry Band 12-musician ensemble will perform patriotic and U.S. armed services music in commemoration of the 291st Anniversary of Amelia County and the 250th Anniversary of the Fifth Virginia Convention and the Virginia Declaration of Rights. The 45-minute concert will precede an adjacent fireworks display over Amelia Court House that caps off a full annual Amelia Day founders' day agenda (9:30 am - 8:00 pm) on the nearby historic courthouse square. Attendees should bring their own seating for the Army performance, but some chairs will be provided for the aged and infirm. The weather back-up site will be the Amelia County Parks & Recreation War Memorial Gym at 16330 Dunn Street. Military veterans are invited as special guests. The performance is hosted by the Amelia County Historical Society, Amelia County AmRev250 Committee, and the Amelia Day Planning Committee.
