Ken & Brad Kolodner Quartet

Ken & Brad Kolodner Quartet

About

Steeped in Old-Time tradition, this father-son acoustic roots ensemble brings early American music to life through fiddle, hammered dulcimer, banjo, and bass, grounded in generations of shared musicianship. Ken, a master of the hammered dulcimer and accomplished fiddler, is celebrated for elevating the dulcimer’s presence in traditional music, while Brad, a gifted clawhammer banjoist and composer, blends reverence for the past with fresh ideas. Together, they share a rare musical chemistry born of years of collaboration and family connection, delivering performances marked by tight interplay, rhythmic drive, and a spirit of exploration. They are joined by bassist Alex Lacquement and multi-instrumentalist Rachel Eddy.

This show is part of our Roots of a Nation Concert Series, made possible in part by a grant from Virginia Humanities.
