Night at the Museum

Night at the Museum

About

Step back in time at this immersive, theatrical event! The Campbell County Public Library System invites you to a special tour of the Avoca Museum property, where you'll encounter compelling voices from America's Revolutionary era in Central Virginia. Meet courageous patriots who fought for independence, influential matriarchs who shaped their communities, Native Americans whose lives were forever changed by the conflict, and enslaved and free Black Americans who navigated this tumultuous period in our nation's history.

This historical presentation allows families to travel across Avoca's beautiful grounds while enjoying performances of characters from the past brought back to life. This will be similar to a professional theater performance. This free event is recommended for ages 10+. Each person in your group over 3 years old will need to register online in advance. One person may register an entire group and indicate the group size at check out.

Night at the Museum will be held on Friday, Oct. 10, 6 – 8 p.m., and on Saturday, Oct. 11, 6 – 8 p.m. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled tour time. This event will be held rain or shine, and tours will last approximately one hour. We suggest that you bring a flashlight as the grounds may be uneven and dark.
