In central Virginia, the underlying bedrock is typically concealed beneath the region's verdant green hills, but at Highland and in the Blue Ridge foothills the bedrock records a long and exciting history that goes back more than a billion years. Join William & Mary Geology Professor Chuck Bailey for an exploration of Deep Time and the important geological connections to the landscape and human history of Virginia.

The talk will be from 10:00 to 11:00 in the Highland Barn, with an optional hike from 11:00 to 12:30. Light refreshments provided.
