Deep History: Geologic Perspectives at Highland

Join us at Highland on Saturday, September 6, for the next event in a series celebrating 50 years of William & Mary's stewardship of Highland. In central Virginia the underlying bedrock is typically concealed beneath the region's verdant green hills, but at Highland and in the Blue Ridge foothills the bedrock records a long and exciting history that goes back more than a billion years. In the program Deep History: Geologic Perspectives at Highland, W&M Geology Professor Chuck Bailey will explore geological connections to the landscape and human history of Virginia.

The talk will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on September 6 in the lower level of the Highland Event Barn, with an optional hike from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Light refreshments provided.
