Black History Month Archaeology Open House

Black History Month Archaeology Open House

About

In honor of Black History Month, the Monticello Department of Archaeology is hosting an open house featuring displays of recent excavations and artifacts, hands-on activities for all ages, and walking tours.

Join archaeologists as they share what we have recently learned about the lives of enslaved people here on the landscape as well as ongoing work by our Digital Archaeological Archive of Comparative Slavery.

Tours will leave from the Bronze Plantation Model in the visitor center courtyard at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm.
