Stories from the People of the Longhouse

About

Jamestown Settlement, a museum of 17th-century Virginia history and culture, presents a special storytelling presentation, "Stories from the People of the Longhouse," on December 28-29, at 12 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Through vivid descriptions, rhythmic voice and guest interaction, storyteller Perry Ground shares traditional Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) legends that have been told for hundreds of years, teaching about the beliefs, customs and history of the Haudenosaunee people.

Jamestown Settlement invites visitors to discover America’s first permanent English colony, the cultures and traditions of the Virginia Indians, Europeans and West Central Africans. Get a firsthand look at history with interactive outdoor re-creations and innovative galleries featuring rare artifacts, hands-on exhibits and a 4D film.

The museum is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily; closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Museum shops and cafe open during museum hours.

The event is included with general admission to Jamestown Settlement. Residents of James City County, York County and the City of Williamsburg, including William & Mary students, receive complimentary admission to both museums with proof of residency. Parking is free.
