Veterans Day Radcliffe Cemetery Dedication

Veterans Day Radcliffe Cemetery Dedication

About

Join us on this special morning for the dedication of a new flagpole and Pomeroy marker at the Radcliffe Cemetery, honoring Revolutionary Patriot John Wiatt, and War of 1812 Veteran William Norvell. Muster begins at 9am with the Patrick Henry and Dan River Color Guards. Guests will learn about the significance of this cemetery and take part in the ceremonial laying of the wreaths, and dedication of these new memorials. Speakers include Patrick Henry SAR Chaplain Dr. Charles Driscoll, Patrick Henry SAR President Mark Day, Radcliffe Board President Kirk Otey, James River DAR Regent Julie Dias, Lynchburg Museum Director Ted Delaney, and LYH250 Committee President, Ashleigh Meyer. The ceremony should be approximately 45 minutes long.

Radcliffe Cemetery is the burial location for several of the late Jane White's ancestors. Its restoration was near and dear to her heart and was a project she was deeply invested in at the time of her passing just this year. Help us keep her passion alive and honor this sacred place of final rest.
